Introducing Mr. Mixit
Late last year, I made a resolution for our team to develop apps on as many devices as possible in 2011. I’m proud to introduce you to our first Android game, Mr. Mixit! At HDI, we really love creating fun, interactive programs for all sorts of devices, so developing Mr. Mixit didn’t really feel like work.
We started the process by brainstorming some cool ideas for games that no one else had created. Deciding on a fun club scene with a robotic DJ, we began to build the concept. In the game, Mr. Mixit is mixing awesome jams for a screaming audience, but he needs help; some of his record labels have been broken apart and you need to put them back together so they can be played. This fun puzzle game is great for both kids and adults, building your hand-eye coordination, as well as problem solving skills.
Once again, James and Todd teamed up to create a really special user experience. James developed the game concept, the graphics, and the original music tracks. Todd did all the programming, even breaking new ground in what can / has been done with Adobe Flex to build mobile apps.
You can download Mr. Mixit in the Android Marketplace now! Let us know what you think and how many levels you helped Mr. Mixit in the comments!
We’re also working on Mr. Mixit for the Blackberry Playbook and iPad, so make sure to keep checking back. We have some more fun and exciting Android apps in the works, as well!
