Welcome to HDI

HD Interactive, founded in 2002, recently began its fifth engagement with Adobe, the global leader in graphics and document management software. Our work demonstrates the business case and implementation of leading edge products, including LiveCycle, Flex, and the new AIR platform. These demos are used by Adobe sales and evangelist teams across several vertical markets, including health care, insurance, and government, both in personal meetings with key stakeholders and for conference presentations.

HD Interactive was founded in 2002 by Sean Carey, the firm President, and Todd Williams, the Creative Director. Before starting HDI, Sean was the Vice President of Development for a venture funded new media agency with a staff of 200. With hundreds of successful, high profile development projects behind them, Sean and Todd built HDI by word of mouth and reputation, paying careful attention to each client project as they do today.

HDI Today

By 2008, HDI had grown to include Programming Manager Trae Regan, a team of 3D designers that employ advanced effects software such as Maya and Lightwave 3D, an audio specialist to create sound effects and custom music, additional graphic designers and developers in core languages such as Actionscript, .NET and PHP. Joseph DeSetto, the author of The Business of Design and Flash MX: Rich Media for the Web, joined the team this year to advance the HDI brand, help develop new markets and establish partnerships with other top tier specialty firms.

Uniquely Efficient Structure

HDI is based in Tampa, Florida, and is uniquely structured as a virtual firm. Although the firm maintains access to Class A office space in Tampa’s Westshore Business District for client presentations, all HDI staff work remotely, with collaboration between team members managed by custom software developed in-house for our structure. To maintain a consistent, quality product, all client data is kept on secure servers with restricted access. The process and delivery methodologies employed by HDI have been refined over the past 7 years to create an efficient workflow that keeps costs competitive with vendors that are unable to reproduce HDI quality.

Partners Throughout the Industry

As well as managing client projects directly, HDI partners with a number of leading specialty firms to transparently add design or development skills to an engagement. Working in this capacity, HDI has developed projects for some of the world’s most recognized brands, including Disney, Siemens, Hilton, and Universal Studios. HDI partnered with Electronic Arts (EA) to develop team logos and gameplay icons for the top selling Madden ’08 football game for XBox and Playstation. HDI was also contracted by EA for a series of three branded online games for Warner Brothers and Pepsi. The games, developed in Adobe Flash, were created to promote the Superman Returns movie and console game.

HDI is equally proud of smaller, less known projects, such as work for Tampa’s own Musuem of Science and Industry (MOSI) and various other kiosk and installations.

The Future

Up next for HDI is a new online presence to showcase some of our latest work, a blog to disseminate ideas and hear from you, our clients and partners, and to continue to build on the reputation Sean and Todd have created over the past 7 years. As technology leaders, we will continue to work closely with our partners at Adobe to leverage the new AIR and Flash platforms and also begin to offer mobile applications for Apple’s iPhone.

Thank you for your interest in HD Interactive, and we look forward to continuing to deliver the highest quality online applications, games and eLearning courses for years to come.
